So much for that

I was trying to read Annie Dillard again today, but I was on the chapter of insect horror stories, and I just could not. Unfortunate, because I think this is partly why I wanted to read the book again--examining the violence in nature and what that says to us about the possibility of a divine creator--but I could not make myself contemplate the beautifully described violence of insects today.
