Random Ramblings

I've been keeping track of the miles I walk every year since around 2005, though my rules have changed from year to year. I used to only count miles if I was doing the Leslie Sansone walk videos, but now I count pretty much anything that isn't my daily walk back and forth to work.

I started keeping track because of the Eowyn Challenge, which tracks the miles you walk in reference to the different distances the hobbits walked in Middle Earth. For example, it's 458 miles from Hobbiton to Rivendell.

Here's a fuller chart:
Hobbiton to Rivendell: 458 miles
Rivendell to Lothlorien: 462 miles
Lothlorien to Rauros Falls: 389 miles
Rauros to Mt. Doom: 470 miles
So that's 1779 miles, total, to Mount Doom, which I finally passed last year, and I'm now on my way back from Mordor. As of today, I've done 2064 miles (76 miles for the year). I did 495 miles last year, and I think my goal for this year is 1000. We'll see, I guess.
